Former US President Donald Trump's comments about his call with the King of Jordan and his suggestion that Jordan take in Palestinians reflect a clear ignorance of the nature of the Palestinian issue and the political history of the region. Trump failed to understand that the Palestinians who took refuge in Jordan were originally Jordanian citizens from the West Bank, which was part of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan before the Israeli occupation, and when the occupation occurred, they were forcibly displaced to the east bank of the Jordan River, now known as Jordan.

Trump's remarks were not just a passing remark; they were part of a broader US strategy to support Israeli ethnic cleansing, initiated by his predecessor Joe Biden, a task that the Israeli occupation has failed to fully implement through military force. Trump made it clear that he had discussed with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi about receiving some 1.5 million Palestinians (about 70 percent of the population of the Gaza Strip), confirming that he was determined to implement this criminal plan, regardless of the interests of his Arab allies and even the law and international organizations. This confirms that the United States is not just a supporter of Israel, but an active and bold partner in its aggressive expansionist policies and crimes against humanity.

Ironically, Trump, who has a policy of banning and restricting immigration to the United States, even though America itself is a country built by immigrants, including his own family, wants to expel the indigenous Palestinian population from their ancestral land in favor of Jewish immigrants and allow the expansion of their fascist, racist, apartheid state on this land.

Since the beginning, the United States has supported Israel diplomatically in the Security Council and the United Nations, legally by threatening the International Criminal Court and criminalizing its members, and economically by pumping billions of dollars into Israel (despite economic crises within the United States, such as the California fires that exposed the weakness of the country's infrastructure). Militarily, Washington has deployed aircraft carriers and nuclear submarines, provided Israel with the latest lethal weapons, such as 2,000-pound smart bombs, which are usually used against military fortifications but have been used to target civilian infrastructure, not to mention providing intelligence support and military guidance.

Moreover, Washington played a key role in media manipulation, seeking to distort the facts and conceal Israel's crimes, such as the bombing of civilian infrastructure and newborn babies, and fully embracing Israeli propaganda, whether through the White House National Security Council spokesperson, the State Department or even President Biden himself. After the ceasefire, clear evidence emerged that Israel was planning from the outset to forcibly expel Gazans by systematically destroying their hospitals, universities, roads, water and electricity networks, schools, and markets, while simultaneously promoting the purchase of land in Gaza as if the area were devoid of its rightful inhabitants.

This was not just an illusion propagated by extreme Zionism, but an official policy supported by the Trump administration, which treated the Palestinian issue as a mere real estate deal. Trump's so-called "deal of the century" was nothing more than the realization of Netanyahu's fascist dreams, an attempt to blackmail Arab countries into funding economic prosperity for the Palestinians in exchange for abandoning their national aspirations. The idea was strongly promoted by former US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman and Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who has publicly stated that Palestinians are incapable of governing themselves.

Such policies encouraged Jewish extremists to escalate their attacks on the Al-Aqsa Mosque and expand illegal settlements, targeting the local Palestinian population in the West Bank, sparking Palestinian resistance. At the same time, Arab and Muslim countries have faced enormous US pressure to normalize relations with Israel, completely ignoring the Arab Peace Initiative and reinforcing Palestinians' sense of abandonment without meaningful political solutions.

All of these factors led to the events of October 7; a direct result of the policies that Trump has championed. His policies, contrary to his beliefs, do not extinguish wars but rather create chaos, political turmoil and regional wars.

Today, the forced displacement of Palestinians is no longer a conspiracy theory, but an explicit Israeli-American policy that explicitly contradicts international law and human rights principles. This reveals the double standards by which the US and its allies have been globally criticized, damaging their credibility and international standing.

Thus, while Trump boasted of "making America great again," his actions have actually contributed to tarnishing its image and reputation. However, the Palestinian people, who have withstood massacres and occupation, will not be swayed by Trump's empty rhetoric. Their steadfastness will remain a testament that U.S. policies toward the Palestinian cause have not only harmed Palestinians, but have been disastrous for America's standing in the world.
