If former US President Donald Trump is likened to King Cyrus, Benjamin Netanyahu is the prophet who seeks to save the "new Israelis" in a hostile environment.
His message is based on Pouring out theories of the clash of civilizations by Bernard Lewis and Samuel Huntington in a purely religious settingThe battle, as he sees it, is against the "evil" embodied in Islam - not the "moderate" Islam, but the one capable of Response and resistance.
I doubt that Lewis and Huntington would have accepted where Netanyahu had taken their ideas!
The occupation prime minister's speech at the 2018 AIPAC conference clearly reflects The way he thinks, the direction he wants to take the world.
Netanyahu began his speech by thanking Trump for his support for Israel, especially for recognizing occupied Jerusalem as its "eternal" capital and moving the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to the holy city, defying International law.
But Netanyahu's words were not As an expression of gratitude As much as it was an attempt to to draw Trump into the quagmire of a complex historical conflict.
The U.S.-Israeli alliance, in his view. Not a fleeting alliancebut "an eternal bond that cannot be broken," he said.
His message is clear: You can't leave us alone, because we share the responsibility as well as the consequenceswhether in the killing of Palestinians or in the occupation of the Holy City and the land of the existential enemy: Islam.
He didn't just thank Trump, he thanked America's entire ruling elitefrom Republicans and Democrats alike.
Even if Trump is gone, the In Netanyahu's eyes, all of America remains accountable to the worldIt cannot abandon Israel or leave it to face "evil" on its own.
In other words, as Netanyahu repeats: "You will not abandon us. We rise and fall together“.
With two right-wing leaders at the helm of both Israel and America, relations between the two countries are no longer based on Common interestsRather, on Common faithcombining Christian and Jewish Zionismafter centuries of hostility between Christians and Jews.
Netanyahu says this alliance stems from "a book, a great, good book ... called Bible“.
Ironically, this The book itself has been used for centuries to justify Persecution of Jews and demonized by Christians.
Much of his speech was laden with religious references and biblical symbols, in an attempt to connect with his right-wing religious audience. But it was not without its contradictions.
For example, he referred to the prophet Amos, who is known to Prophet of Desolation who predicted the fall of Judah and Samaria, while Netanyahu tried to convince everyone Israel's greatness and power!
In another reference to Genesis: "We are all created in the image of God"He claimed that there is equality among human beings, but this "equality" Does not include non-Jews, especially Palestinians.
He used the phrase "our King David" when speaking of his rule over Judah and Samaria, i.e. West Bank currentlyusing the possessive "na" to include both Jewish and Christian Zionists.
And here it turns out Intentional Ambiguity in his speech, as this language is meant to Strengthening the emotional attachment of Zionist Christians to Old Testament figureswhich the Israelis espouse as a religious justification for controlling Palestine.
Zionism, although an ideology created by Secular atheistsYou are now using By religious texts To justify the occupation.
Netanyahu's biblical fervor went so far as to call Book of Esther to turn America against Iran, reminding his AIPAC audience of the ancient attempt by "Persians" - allegedly - to exterminate the Jews.
"They failed then, and they will fail now," he said.
This at a time when Martin Luther himself, the founder of Protestantism, considered the Book of Esther to be "too Jewish" and "full of pagan perversions"!
However, it seems that Luther's American evangelical descendants ignored this reservationToday, they have become Netanyahu's most Zionist ally in his ideological warfare.
The bottom line of Netanyahu's speech was that Israelis and Americans "Inspired by the same idea" and "driven by the same values"which supports the "eternal and indissoluble bond".
Although he is keen to appear as a "successful modern leader," the His ideology and language fall into historical and mythological mud.
With his rhetoric filled with religious mythology and an age-old worldview, Netanyahu resembles Urban IIThe pope who called for a "holy war" to reclaim the "Holy Land" in the Crusades, which ended by conquering Jerusalem in 1099and the destruction of the territories of his allies from the Byzantine Empire.
In fact, Netanyahu's words are Modernized version of Urban II's sermon at the Council of Clermontwhen he called on people to wage a "just war" to "liberate Jerusalem."
Its expressions, generalizations, pseudo-history, and apocalyptic appeals such as: "We must stop Iran, and we will stop Iran!"all of them. It indicates a rigid religious mentality, detached from reality, closer to dogmatic fantasy.
If Netanyahu were a Muslim leader. He would have been ridiculed as a medieval reactionary!
While Netanyahu gave impassioned speeches, spokeswoman Esther Kurz was more explicit in outlining the Israeli lobby's agenda in America, saying:
"AIPAC's lobbying agenda this year focuses on three core issues:
  1. Providing essential security assistance to Israel.
  2. Confronting Iran's regional aggression and nuclear ambitions
  3. Oppose boycott campaigns targeting Israel, which also threaten U.S. companies."
Zionists consider themselves to be in A sacred and moral mission.
They condemn the BDS movement without even thinking about its causes, such asThe Israeli occupation and its racist policies.
For them, it is Open war: "Whoever boycotts Israel, we will boycott them."
Those who are defeated and cooperate with the Zionists are given the "peace of Israel."
Those who refuse and resist are simply "Terrorist kills Jews to get rich".
A language with this much Incitement and division have no place in a world that seeks peace and justicewhich is a language Netanyahu's appearance at the AIPAC conference offered nothing positive.
