Mohammed Makram Balaawi
The last fish living in a polluted lake tried to run for its life and swim against the current to the source of the river, and while it was trying to do so, it was seen by a stork. The stork was feeling hungry and could no longer see any fish or worms in the lake that humans had filled with filth. The stork flew towards the fish and tried to eat it, but it went down into the water and disappeared. The stork searched for the fish but could not find it, so it called out to him from among the tin cans lying in the water, "Leave me alone, stork, and look for other food, for I am a small fish, and I will not satisfy a big bird like you. The stork rejected her words and attacked her among the tin cans. She hid in one of the cans, and when the bird inserted its beak to eat her, it got stuck to the edge of the can and could no longer take it out of it or reach the fish. The fish said to the stork, "If you want to save your life, I will help you, provided you take me up the river, and then I will take your beak out of the can. The stork flew the tin can away from the pollution and filth thrown into the water by humans, until he reached the top of the river Then he lowered the tin can into the water, and the fish pulled the end of the tin can, and the stork's beak immediately came out, and it disappeared among the grasses of the river. There the stork lived happily with abundant food, and the fish rejoiced in the clean water.
